Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon celebrates 75th Independence Day
Embassy of Sri Lanka organized a celebration at the Embassy Premises in Beirut, Lebanon on 05th February 2023 to mark the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka.
In his speech, Ambassador-Designated Mr. Kapila Jayaweera emphasized the Sri Lankan community the importance of working together to overcome the challenges and for the prosperity of our nation at this decisive time, followed by reading out the Independence Day messages of H.E. the President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka.
The event was featured with playing national anthems both in Sinhala and Tamil, observance of two minutes silence to respect the national heroes of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Army Officers attached to the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon(UNIFIL), members of Sri Lankan associations and community, representatives of Tea Importers and Foreign Employment Association, and Lebanese friends attended to the event.
